  1. Dear Customer,

    This is an update to our announcement "Transition to Self-Managed IP Addresses". The fee remains 1 USD per IPv4 per month. This update introduces the new self-service options and explains when the fee is charged:

    • If you switch to a Cogent IP yourself, the fee is charged from the day of the switch.
    • If you are already using a Cogent IP, the fee starts on December 1, 2026, as announced before.

    1. Self-service switching to Cogent IP is now available

    LAX Pro and LAX EB products can now switch to a Cogent IP address (addresses starting with 154) at any time. Log in to your product control panel, open the Network tab and choose "Upgrade to paid IP".

    Your service receives a new address from the Cogent range. The current address is released and cannot be restored.

    2. What you pay when you switch

    • The fee is charged from the day of the switch.
    • When you switch, you pay for the period from that day to the next due date of your product. A partial month is charged as a whole month.
    • After that, every renewal invoice of your product includes the fee for the renewed period.
    • The start date of December 1, 2026 does not apply to a switch you make yourself. It only applies to customers who are already using a Cogent IP (see section 3).

    3. If you are already using a Cogent IP

    • You can keep using your current address. No action and no payment are needed now.
    • The fee only appears on renewal invoices generated on or after December 1, 2026. A renewal invoice generated before that date does not include the fee, even if the period it covers ends after December 1.
    • You keep the address until your product is due for renewal, or until you request an IP change.
    • If you request an IP change before the fee has been paid, the new address will be a standard IP and the Cogent IP cannot be recovered. Switching to a Cogent IP again later counts as a new switch and is charged from that day, as described in section 2.
    • "Pay early" is optional. You do not need it to keep your address. It is only useful if you want to change your IP before the fee starts being charged with your renewals, and stay in the Cogent range.

    4. IP changes after payment

    Once the fee for a Cogent IP has been paid, any later IP change request will assign a new address within the paid IP range.

    5. No guarantee of accessibility or geolocation

    Paid IP addresses come with no guarantee that any website or service can be reached from them, and no guarantee about the IP's geolocation information.

    6. Switching back to a standard IP

    A paid IP can be switched back to a standard IP when the conditions shown in the control panel are met. Unused whole months are refunded to your DMIT account credit. The current partial month is not refunded.

    Please note that account credit cannot be withdrawn.

    7. Completed changes are final

    Once an IP address change has completed, it cannot be undone and the previous address cannot be restored. The fee paid for a paid IP is not refundable, apart from the account credit refund described in section 6.

    8. Upcoming migration for HKG and TYO

    Due to changes to our lease orders with Cogent, all existing Cogent IP addresses on HKG and TYO products will be migrated in batches to standard IP addresses. The schedule will be announced separately before the migration begins. No action is required for now.

  2. Dear Customer,

    Over the past year, global IP address leasing costs have continued to rise. Leased IPs are subject to market fluctuations, vendor policy changes, and contract terms, which present limitations in long-term stability and independent control. To provide a more stable and reliable service environment and to mitigate the impact of rising costs, DMIT has fully transitioned to purchasing and independently managing IP addresses. We aim to absorb cost pressures as much as possible through this initiative, avoiding passing these costs on to customers.

    We understand that some customers may need to retain their existing Cogent IP addresses (i.e., IPs starting with 154) for business reasons. Therefore, we will continue to offer the option to use these IPs. However, due to the continuous increase in external leasing costs for these IP addresses, starting December 1, 2026, an additional rental subsidy fee will be applied to products that retain 154-prefix IPs. The standard fee will be 1 USD/IPv4 per month. This fee will be automatically added to the relevant product invoices. If you no longer require this IP, the additional fee will be removed.

    If you wish to avoid this additional fee or prefer to use our self-managed IP addresses, you can log in to your product control panel at any time and manually request an IP address change in the network tab (select the Discontinued Cogent IP rule). This IP change is free of charge and has no prerequisites.

    *If your service does not currently have any IP addresses starting with 154, you will not be affected by this adjustment.

    Additional Notes:

    1. The IP "surcharge" applies only to renewal orders generated after December 1. Existing order prices will not be modified. Renewal prices will not change; only the IP surcharge will be added.
    2. You can complete your renewal before the renewal order is generated to temporarily avoid the additional fee.
    3. You can also change your IP before the renewal order is generated to avoid the additional fee.
    4. There will be no changes to the current billing cycle.
